AWANA Club

Dear Mom and Dad,

Peace in the Lord! We are so thankful to God for His guidance and provision. We are thankful for all of the Awana coworkers, for the support of Wilmington Community Evangelical Church (WCEC), and for the support, encouragement, and cooperation of the parents. We trust that God will be glorified by what will be accomplished this year.

Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them…
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Thank you for bringing your children to Awana. We trust that God will work in their lives to bless them and bring glory to Himself.

Awana (http://www.awana.org) is headquartered in Illinois, and has ministries all over the world. Awana has approximately 12,000 churches registered domestically, with an additional 4000 international clubs. These ministries serve children ranging from 2 to 18 years of age. Awana’s main purpose is to bring people to Christ, and train them to be servants of God for God’s kingdom.

The Awana ministry at WCEC currently serves children from 3 years of age through 6th grade.

Our Awana Clubs include:
Cubbies: three and four year olds (Must be three by September 1)
Sparks: kindergarteners through second grade
Truth and Training: third through sixth grade

Awana meets weekly on Friday nights, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm

An Awana meeting consists of three parts:
Handbook Time (Scripture memorization)
Message Time (Bible-based stories)
and Game Time (Team-based fun!)

All sections are led by trained leaders. Presently, there are 23 coworkers serving in the program. If you would like to volunteer, please contact our Awana commander, Mr.Yung, at the church (302) 239-4990

For the safety of the kids, and respect for the Awana volunteers, we ask that you please pick your children up promptly. Your understanding and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
